Starting With Faulty Software
If the soware installed on the managed switch (rmware) is faulty, you can restore or up-
date the rmware using an update.
Connect the switch to your PC via the serial RS-232 (V.24) interface. Make sure that your
HyperTerminal is congured correctly.

If the device rmware is faulty, the following message appears (see Figure 5.6):
